Speed skating world record holder Pavel Kulizhnikov misses the first stage of the Russian Cup due to a sore throat, Russian national team head coach Dmitry Dorofeev told .
Kulizhnikov previously opened the season at Shavyrin Memorial, where he won the 1000m. At the “five hundred” of the first stage of the Russian Cup, which began in Kolomna, Kulizhnikov did not play.
