Triple Olympic medalist biathlete Edward Latypov told that today’s race at the All-Russian Cross-Country Skiing Competition was a great starting test before the start of the season.
Biathlete Eduard Latypov won the open cross-country skiing competition in Aldan on Saturday. The 28-year-old Russian overcame a distance of 10 km in the freestyle race in 23 minutes 18 seconds. Second place was taken by skier Ilya Semikov (+4.7 seconds), Andrey Melnichenko was third (+12.5 seconds).
– It turned out to be a normal race with good competition, which made it possible to check the results of the two weeks of preparation. Another official run in the piggy bank. Of course, it’s still difficult when it comes to preparation, as ski training only recently started, but it turned out to be a great first start, a good test of the pen.
Do you plan to participate in cross-country ski competitions in the future?
– It’s good to have such an experience. If there is another opportunity to participate, I will be delighted.
The All-Russian Cross-Country Skiing Competitions are taking place from October 29 to 30 in Aldan, in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
