Olympic champion Elena Bilosyuk (Pidgrushnaya) became the third candidate for the presidency Biathlon Federation of Ukraine.
The captain of the women’s biathlon team was nominated by the Ternopil Youth Sports School for winter sports. Bilosyuk will also compete for the presidency of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that Ivan Krulko, a deputy from the Batkivshchyna, is one of the candidates for the FBU President. People’s Deputy has already tried to present as the future head of the Federation at the conference of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) in Salzburg.
The election of the head of the Biathlon Federation of Ukraine should take place on November 14 during the FBU Conference. Krulko has not yet officially put forward his candidacy. The main opponent of the People’s Deputy is the leader of the men’s biathlon team of Ukraine Dmitry Pidruchny, who confirmed his intention to participate in the elections.
President of the Biathlon Federation of Ukraine Volodymyr Brynzak wrote a letter of resignation and left his post. According to him, since July 1, he has been acting president of the FBU. Brynzak refused to run for another term. The functionary has led the Ukrainian biathlon since 1998.
The meeting of the Presidium of the Biathlon Federation of Ukraine was supposed to be held on May 18, but was postponed until the end of martial law in the country.
