President of Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe told that she would only be happy if one of the national team skiers got pregnant and therefore missed the season.
Earlier it became known that Russian biathletes Christina Reztsova and Uliana Nigmatullina will miss the 2022/23 season due to pregnancy.
– In the Russian national cross-country ski team, aren’t the athletes going to go on maternity leave for lack of an international season?
– If one of the girls gets pregnant, I will only be delighted. We always welcome that,” Vyalbe told .
In October, at a meeting of the Council of the International Ski Federation (FIS), it was decided to extend the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions under the auspices of the organization for an indefinite period due to the situation in Ukraine.
