canadian bobsledder Christine de Bruyne suspended three years for an anti-doping rule violation, according to the website of the Canadian Center for Ethics in Sport (CCES).
An out-of-competition urine sample from an athlete was found to contain the banned anabolic agent ligandrol. In late October, de Bruyne signed a special agreement acknowledging the violation and waiving his right to a hearing.
As a result, de Bruyne’s period of ineligibility was reduced by one year under the Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP) rule. The sanction against the 33-year-old bobsledder will end on September 27, 2025.
De Bruyne is the 2019 World Championship silver medalist in the mixed team competition, she also has two World Championship bronze medals in two. At the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, the Canadian became third in the monobob competition, which was held as part of the Games for the first time.
