Former team member Russia Biathlon champion Valery Shashkin has died aged 54, according to the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) website.
In 2019, Shashkin joined the Slovenian team.
– Valery Leonidovich worked for many years with Anton Shipulin and other national team biathletes. Shashkin stood out for his talent and his ability to prepare the best skis even in the most difficult weather conditions.
The farewell to Shashkin will take place on November 12 in the city of Yeniseisk, Krasnoyarsk Territory.
