The Board of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has unanimously re-elected President Vitold Banka as President of the organization. This was reported by the press service of the agency.
Banka, 38, has led the AMA since January 1, 2020. His new presidency is for the next three years.
— It is a great honor and privilege for me to be elected President of WADA for another three-year term. My first mandate brought many challenges, especially due to the COVID‑19 pandemic. I am proud of how WADA and the clean sport community around the world have risen to the challenge and supported the system.
Together, we have made significant progress in areas such as athlete engagement, education, increased anti-doping funding, capacity building and research,” Banka said.
The WADA chief also noted that during his second term, the agency has a lot of work to do to strengthen the anti-doping system.
