President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation Elena Vyalbe told that she assumed that Natalia Nepryaeva will not give Veronika Stepanova battle in the sprint final in the Russian Cup stage.
Nepryaeva won the sprint race in the classic style at the first stage of the Russian Cup on top of Tyoi (Republic of Khakassia) with a result of 4 minutes 2.44 seconds. Second place went to Stepanova (+1.79). Third was Alena Baranova (+2.30).
– In the women’s sprint, the results are expected. I assumed that Natalya Nepryaeva would not let Veronika Stepanova bypass her. Natalia is not going to give up her posts. Actually there was a good fight in the final, it’s great that nobody sat in the race, didn’t walk, but really fought,” Vyalbe told .
