Norwegian three-time Olympic champion Marte Reiseland will not participate in the first stage of the World Cup in Kontiolahti (Finland) due to problems with physical preparation, according to to place Norwegian Biathlon Association.
The decision to pass was made after consultation with coaches and medical staff.
“It’s a test of patience. Only time will help me. At the moment my body is not ready for intense competition, so I will have to stay at home,” said Reiseland.
Reiseland is the big winner of the 2021/22 World Cup.
Stage in Finland will take place from November 29 to December 4.
