All-Russian cross-country competition “Khibiny Race” ended in Kirovsk (Murmansk region).
More than 400 athletes from 32 regions of Russia took part in the starts that open the official calendar of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR).
During the grand opening of the competition, which took place at the Apatit-Arena Ice Palace, their participants and guests were welcomed in a video message by FLGR President Elena Vyalbe.
– As always, we open our season with the Khibiny race. I wish all its participants fast and slippery snow,” said Vyalbe.
Guests of honor, stars of Soviet and Russian skiing came to support the participants of the competition. Among them are four-time Olympic champion, Olympic silver medalist Nikolai Zimyatov, Olympic champion, Olympic silver medalist, World Championship medalist Mikhail Devyatyarov, two-time World Cup winner, three-time Olympic medalist , world champion Alexander Zavyalov and world championship bronze medalist. , 18 times champion of Russia at different distances, director of the sports school of the Olympic Reserve of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra Sergey Kryanin.
On competition days, they held master classes for students of the Kirovsk and Apatity sports schools and the cross-country section of ANO DROZD-Khibiny.
As part of the Khibiny race, there were starts in the individual race in classic style, the sprint and the individual race in freestyle over distances of 1.5, 5, 10 and 15 km.
In the men’s individual 10 km freestyle race, the best was Evgeny Kudryavtsev, who plays for St. Petersburg. Aleksey Shemyakin, representing the Arkhangelsk region, finished second. The third was Valery Ponomarev from St. Petersburg.
Svetlana Zaborskaya from the Arkhangelsk region was the fastest to overcome the women’s five-kilometer freestyle distance. The second to finish was Olga Tsareva, representing the Komi Republic. In third place is Anna Neustroeva from the Murmansk region.
Vitaly Zhenikhov, who plays for St. Petersburg, won the men’s sprint in the classic style. Second place was taken by Viktor Semenov, and third by Ilya Tikhonenko. Both athletes represent Tatarstan. Muscovite Natalya Matveeva was the first woman to finish, second and third places were taken by Milena Gabusheva and Tsareva de Komi respectively.
In the women’s individual 10 km race in the classic style, Tsareva was the first to finish. Anastasia Vlasova from the Murmansk region is in second place. Third place went to Olga Vokueva, who played for Komi.
The classic-style men’s 15 km race ended with victory for Nikita Egorov of St. Petersburg. The second in this discipline was Alexey Shemyakin, representing the Arkhangelsk region. The third is Viktor Semenov from Tatarstan.
The winners and laureates of the competitions, as well as the athletes who took their places from 4 to 6, received cash prizes in the amount of 100-10 thousand rubles.
