Latypov said that his first coach bought a car with a cash prize for the performance of a biathlete at the Olympics

The first coach of the Russian biathlete Edward Latypov Marat Shavaliyev bought a car with a cash prize, which he received thanks to the athlete’s successful performance at the Beijing Olympics.

At the 2022 Games, Latypov won three bronze medals – in the pursuit, as well as in the men’s and mixed relay.

– The first coach, like an athlete, is always entitled to a reward for the result at the Olympic Games. Therefore, it is not, as many people think, that I went to the salon and bought him a car. It’s just that my coach got a cash prize and bought a car with it. His old one broke down and needed repair, and thanks to my result he received such an award,” Latypov told Metaratings.ru.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced in early February that the winners of the Beijing Olympics will receive 4 million rubles, silver medalists – 2.5 million, bronze medalists – 1.7 million. He added that those who accompany the winners of the Games – coaches and other specialists – will also receive bonuses.
