Belarusian biathlete Anton Smolsky told that he will monitor opponents’ performances at World Cup stages in the new season to maintain his level of competition.
Previously, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) suspended Russians and Belarusians from participating in tournaments under the organization’s auspices due to the situation in Ukraine.
– Yes, I will follow (for the new season). The level of the sport is increasing, and to stay at the same level as we are now, you have to watch your opponents. In order to avoid regression, you have to follow the top athletes,” Smolsky told .
Smolsky is the 2022 Olympic Games silver medalist in the 20km individual race.
The first stage of the World Cup will take place in Finland’s Kontiolahti from November 29 to December 4.
