Bilosyuk will miss the individual race at the first stage of the World Cup in Kontiolahti

The Olympic champion was declared under the 77th number

Olympic champion Elena Bilosyuk will miss the individual race in the first stage World Cup biathlon in Kontiolahti, Finland.

The Ukrainian was announced for the first start of the new season under the 77th number, but decided to skip the race. Four other Ukrainian biathletes will compete in the individual race: Irina Petrenko (15th starting number), Daria Blashko (36th), Yulia Dzhima (39th) and Anna Krivonos (69th).

Dorother Wierer from Italy will open the individual race. The full start list of the race can be found here.

The women’s individual race in Kontiolahti will take place on Wednesday 30 November. The beginning is at 14:15 Kyiv time.

On Tuesday, the 2022/23 biathlon season kicked off with the men’s individual race in Kontiolahti. The winner of the race was the Swede Martin Ponsiluoma. The best result among Ukrainians was shown by Anton Dudchenko – 30th place.
