Oeberg won the individual race at the KM stage in Kontiolahti

Swedish biathlete Hanna Oeberg won the 15 km individual race at the first stage of the World Cup, which takes place in Kontiolahti (Finland).

She posted a time of 43 minutes 53.8 seconds with a penalty.

Norwegian Ingrid Tandrevold was second with 0 misses, +36.5 seconds, while Italian Lisa Vitozzi was third with 1 miss, +39.7.

Three-time Olympic bronze medalist Dorothea Wierer of Italy finished 38th in the final standings, 4 minutes 29.5 seconds and 4 penalties behind.

Russian biathletes have been suspended from participation in the World Cup by decision of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) due to the situation in Ukraine.
