Prima: Tough start, dissatisfied with his shooting

Artem previously missed the individual race due to an old injury

Biathlete Artem Prima commented on his performance in the relay at the first stage World Cup in Kontiolahti. For Artem, the race was the first start of the new season.

“The first start is always so intense, in every sense. Before that, of course, there was preparation, there was training. But you still don’t know 100% what to expect from yourself, how you will feel, how you will shoot, how you will feel at a distance. To be honest, the start was difficult. Yes, I put up with it, I gave it my all until the very finish line, because this is a relay race, everyone understands that you are not running alone, but 4 people are going into the race. So I gave myself 100%.

“Today the conditions were super-wonderful, but I am not satisfied with the shooting. It seems that the conditions are good, but there was such a great desire to shoot quickly and well that I supported the shots a little.

I did not run the individual race because an old injury aggravated. We talked with the coaches on this topic before the start of the race and decided to skip the “twenty” and run the rest of the starts.

Every person from Ukraine is excited today. As without it. After all, you read the news every day, communicate with your family, so, of course, you are very worried. Here planes fly in Europe, and at our place there are rockets and people are dying. The tension in the soul is great, but you go to the start and work, because we all represent Ukraine here. We need to perform and give all our strength, as our guys at the front do: they give all their strength there, only “starts” there – for life.

Ukraine, consisting of Artem Pryma, Dmitry Pidruchny, Bogdan Tsymbal and Anton Dudchenko, came to the finish line in 9th place in the relay. The Blue-Yellows used 13 extra rounds.

At the first stage of the World Cup in Kontiolahti, the men will have two more races. On Saturday, December 3, there will be a sprint, and on December 4, a pursuit race.
