The biathlete decided to focus on his sports career after losing the election of the President of the Biathlon Federation
Ukrainian biathlete Dmitry Pidruchny spoke about the future relationship with the new president Biathlon Federation of Ukraine Deputy Ivan Krulko.
“I lost the election. For me, it was like a certain race in life, so … Just like a start in biathlon – I am preparing for it, I did everything I could, made certain mistakes, did not win – I lost, and now I have focused on continuing my career and in season.”
“After the elections, we have not communicated yet [с Крулько]. Perhaps the election factor will somehow affect my work with him, but so far we have not communicated with him. In principle, both before the elections and during the election campaign, everything was fine, I have no personal insults against him. I hope that he doesn’t have anything for me, and that we will work the way we should work: I, as an athlete, he, as the president of the Federation. And then we’ll see how he will cope with this position, how I will cope with mine responsibility.”
“It’s not too good that almost the same team remained that Vladimir Mikhailovich had [Брынзака]. I don’t want to say anything bad about them, but time is running out and biathlon also needs some new changes and new injections.”
“Ivan Ivanovich [Крулько], unfortunately, is not yet so well in control of the situation that really happens in the team. Perhaps, as far as “knocking out” money, construction, restructuring, he is well versed. On the 2nd or 3rd day after the election, he organized an online meeting with all the athletes, and even from the conversation it is clear that he still does not own many issues and does not understand them well, but time will tell. Although during the war, I think that parliamentary activity is also very important.”
“I am ready to help to a certain extent if he is busy, if he has such a need. Of course, as I said, the elections have already passed and I have focused on the work of the athlete, and if any help is required from me, as a captain, or he needs to hear my opinion, of course, that I will help.
Ivan Krulko became the new president of the FBU after a conference that took place in mid-November. 58 participants voted for the people’s deputy, the leader of the men’s biathlon team of Ukraine Dmitry Pidruchny scored 31 votes.
President of the Biathlon Federation of Ukraine Volodymyr Brynzak wrote a letter of resignation and left his post. The functionary has led the Ukrainian biathlon since 1998.
