Dmitry’s participation in Hochfilzen is questionable
Leader of the Ukrainian men’s biathlon team Dmitry Pidruchny will miss the final races in the first stage World Cup in Kontiolahti.
Team coach Juraj Sanitra said that Pidruchny was worried about pain in his knee. It is assumed that the athlete will be examined in Austria, after which the degree of damage will be determined.
“Pidruchny’s knee could not withstand the load in the relay, so he will not be in the next starts in Kontiolahta. Now we will look for an opportunity to do an examination in Austria and make further decisions. In my opinion, there is a problem that will not allow him to start in Hochfilzen. We are still waiting for the results of the examination, but for now we need an understanding of what is happening with the knee.”
Ukraine, consisting of Artem Pryma, Dmitry Pidruchny, Bogdan Tsymbal and Anton Dudchenko, came to the finish line in 9th place in the relay. The Blue-Yellows used 13 extra rounds. For Pidruchny and Prima, this was the debut start of the season.
At the first stage of the World Cup in Kontiolahti, the men will have two more races. On Saturday, December 3, there will be a sprint, and on December 4, a pursuit race. The stage in Hochfilzen will be held from 8 to 11 December.
