Biathlete Daniil Serokhvostov told that he decided to participate in the sprint during the Russian Cup stage in Uvat because he wanted to overcome the fear of cold.
Serokhvostov won gold in the 10km sprint race on Saturday. He did not miss at two borders, posting a time of 25 minutes 55.2 seconds. The race took place under severe frost.
— You are in the top 3 today. I booked a spot on the team a long time ago, right?
– I hope. In our small two-person team (laughs), Serokhvostov told a correspondent.
– Were there any recommendations from the coaches?
– The coaches told us to decide for ourselves. I decided to run because of psychology – to get out and overcome the fear of cold. Overcome, but still reluctant to run in such cold.
Are you afraid of the consequences?
– Of course, it’s scary. But after illnesses this season, I’m not afraid of anything.
