Norwegian three-time Olympic champion Marte Olsby Reiseland will only participate in the Biathlon World Cup stages in January, according to website Norwegian Biathlon Association.
The athlete will miss the stages of the Austrian Hochfilzen (8-11 December) and the French Annecy (15-18 December). Reiseland also missed Finland’s Kontiolahti’s start to the season.
– Obviously (missing the competition) is very boring and not what I want. I especially want to play with the rest of the team. But the body is still not in good condition, health, after all, is the most important thing. I’m focused on doing well at the World Championships, that’s what I have to spend time on.
I’m so impressed with what the girls achieved at the Kontiolahti stage. The relay race was just fantastic, although of course I would have preferred to be with them at the start. I’m very proud of my teammates,” said Reiseland.
Reiseland is the big winner of the 2021/22 World Cup.
