Head of FRR Viktor Maygurov in an interview with a correspondent, he told about his expectations of the Commonwealth Biathlon Cup stage, which will be held in late December in Ryazan.
The Commonwealth Cup competitions will be held from December 24 to 25 in Ryazan at the biathlon complex of the State Autonomous Institution of the Republic of Uzbekistan “Sh Almaz”. Olympic medalists and world champions Alexander Loginov and Maxim Tsvetkov, Olympic medalist and world champion Eduard Latypov, world champion Anton Babikov, Olympic champion Dinara Alimbekova, Beijing Games silver medalist Anton Smolsky and many others will participate in the tournament.
– With the December stage of the Commonwealth Cup in Ryazan, we open a new point on the biathlon map of the country. For the first time in Central Russia, a biathlon competition of this level will be held, winners of the stages of the Olympic Games, World Championships and World Cup, the best biathletes of Russia and Belarus will start. And our fans have a unique opportunity to become direct participants in this event, which the RBU and local organizers have been preparing for several months.
In many ways, this became possible thanks to a great enthusiast of our sport, a true ambassador of biathlon, Sergei Kolesnikov. The country must know its heroes. Sergei himself is a regular participant in the Masters category. He is the only one who built two biathlon stadiums in Russia at his own expense – in Ulyanovsk and Ryazan. And now, in December, Ryazan Almaz will host its first international competitions. I have no doubt that it will be unforgettable! Maygurov told .
The first stage of the Commonwealth Cup was held in August in Sochi, the second – in September in the Belarusian Raubichi.
