Sanitra: The biggest problem was standing

The coach of the men’s team was dissatisfied with the results in the sprint

Coach of the men’s biathlon team of Ukraine Yuraj Sanitra was dissatisfied with the result of the sprint race in the second stage World Cup in Hochfilzen.

“I can’t be happy with the result. The guys looked good on the track: only Tsimbal had problems. I think it’s a bit affected by the height here. But the biggest problem was in standing shooting, where none of our athletes hit all the targets. And without good shooting it was hard to count on a good result.”

“I see that the guys physically moved well on the track, especially Dudchenko. Prima and Lesyuk are also in the third group. I will say that if the shooting had turned out better, the result would have been much, much better.

I think we have not coped with the change of the route. There was a specific situation: before shooting, the guys ran two laps standing up. It’s five kilometers. Also, the entrance to the shooting range is a little harder than at other stadiums. Not only did we have problems with shooting while standing, but out of five, someone could close all the targets.

From what I saw, Dudchenko, who made dimensional misses, and Lesyuk were very close. But it didn’t. The result is not what would please us, but Anton Dudchenko was very, very close to attacking the top ten.

The best among Ukrainians in the sprint was Anton Dudchenko, who took 38th place. Taras Lesiuk also qualified for the pursuit race, showing 53rd result.

The men will run the relay on Saturday. The men’s pursuit will take place on Sunday, December 11th.
