Organizers the second stage of the Biathlon World Cup in Austrian Hochfilzen forced change distance in men’s sprint.
Due to the lack of snow, the organizers were unable to prepare about 3.3 km for the men’s sprint, so today the athletes will run the 2.5 km circle where the women competed yesterday. Thus, after the first shooting, the biathletes will overcome two laps of the distance, and only then go to the rack.
Most likely, these changes to the conduct will not affect the conduct of other races of the stage, since the Pursuits and Relays use laps of 2 and 2.5 kilometers.
The men’s sprint race in Hochfilzen will take place on 9 December. The beginning is at 14:45 Kyiv time.
Recall that among Ukrainians they will be the first to go to the sprint track Anton Dudchenko (#4) and Artem Prima (No. 7). Three more Ukrainian athletes received late starting numbers. Bogdan Tsymbal starts 59th, Taras Lesyuk – 87th, and Vitaly Mandzinmaking his debut at the World Cup level, will perform under the 89th number.
Recall that the women’s sprint took place on Thursday. The race was won by German Deniz Herrmann-Wik, the best among Ukrainians Anastasia Merkushina took 35th place.
