Artem opened the men’s relay for the Ukrainian team
Ukrainian biathlete Artem Prima shared his impressions about the relay at the stage World Cup in Austrian Hochfilzen.
“Today was a normal race, it turned out to work well on the firing lines, although after the sprint there was some uncertainty, and on the rack I still took an extra cartridge. I am fifty-fifty satisfied with myself: it seems that in the group I worked well with rivals, and I feel that the conditions that I would like are not yet in motion, there is something to work on. This is only the second stage and it will be better further, I will run up and I will be able to compete with my rivals.”
“There was a slight novelty in the sprint: the second lap is 5 kilometers, this is not quite our distance, just such a race, in circles. Today was a classic: three laps of 2.5 kilometers. Yes, and we are running the relay not only for ourselves – a team of 4 people is behind you, there is a different mood here.
The cause of failures must be sought in oneself, and not five kilometers away. Here in Hochfilzen, the approaches to the shooting range are generally heavy, and many people have problems. Although I competed a lot on this track, it still sometimes surprises me.”
Prima ran in the first leg of the relay in Hochfilzen. The victory in the race was won by the Norwegian team, Ukraine took 12th place.
On Sunday, two more races will take place in Hochfilzen. At 12:30 Kyiv time, the women’s relay starts, and the program of the stage will be completed by the men’s pursuit, which will begin at 15:15 Kyiv time.
