Anna Krivonos won two gold medals in Yavoriv
Coach of the Ukrainian women’s biathlon team Alexander Kravchenko commented results of the national championship.
“At this Ukrainian championship, first of all, I wanted to compare the girls with the B team, to see what condition the girls are in there. There must be a domestic championship, it must be run. It was informative, purely as of today. Who is in what state, maybe someone can be changed from the girls or some other moments. This is the moment when any information is positive. We just looked at who was in what condition.”
“Team B somehow didn’t really impress. Lyuba Kipyachenkova may be on the move, but she could not cope with the shooting. Sasha Merkushina pleased, but she is still too young. She has no competitive experience yet, and it is often psychologically difficult for young athletes; it is not always possible to show a good result at big competitions. Therefore, I think that it would be better for Sasha to go through the IBU Cups, junior cups, and get stronger. And when there is a result, then you can attract to the World Cup. And so – I didn’t see anything else like that, perhaps I expected more. ”
At the Ukrainian Biathlon Championship, two gold medals were won by Anna Krivonos, who won the pursuit and relay. The sprint was won by Anastasia Merkushina.
Recall that Alexandra Merkushina together with Vitaly Mandzin will participate in the Talent Team Challenge in Gelsenkirchen.
