“Today Nepryaeva had no competition, there is also nothing surprising in Semikov’s victory” – Borodavko

Head Coach Russian team cross-country skiing Yuri Borodavko in a conversation with , he said that today’s wins Natalia Nepryaeva and Ilya Semikov quite logical and not surprising.

Skier Natalya Nepryaeva won the classic 10km time trial at the fifth stage of the Russian Cup in Krasnogorsk. At the finish line, the athlete representing the Arkhangelsk region achieved a time of 28 minutes 53.3 seconds. Second place went to Maria Istomina from the Perm Territory (+23.4), third was Anastasia Kuleshova (+29.0), representing Mordovia and the Nizhny Novgorod region. Olympic champion Veronika Stepanova did not start the race.

In the men’s 15 km competition, skier Ilya Semikov, representing the Republic of Komi, won. The athlete at the finish line showed the result of 38 minutes 44 seconds. His partner in the region Ilya Poroshkin (+7.3) took second place, Moscow’s Alexey Chervotkin (+23.9) took third place.

– Today Nepryaeva was the best on the track, she had no serious competition.

— What can you say about the men’s race?

– The men had a more dynamic race, in the last two laps Semikov and Poroshkin broke away from their competitors and took first and second place respectively. They’ve always been specialists in classic racing, so there’s nothing terribly surprising here.

Russian skiers Alexander Bolshunov and Sergey Ustyugov withdrew from the race. National cross-country team head coach Yuri Borodavko told that Bolshunov suffered a mild concussion in a freestyle sprint race on Tuesday in a collision with Ustyugov and that he would undergo a medical examination.
