Four-time Olympic biathlon champion Alexander Tikhonov gave his opinion on the possible appointment Pavel Rostovtsev as head coach of the Russian biathlon team.
“I just watched the news and felt sick. God forbid such a coach! Pasha did not work anywhere – and nowhere did he receive a positive assessment. What he was no longer : he was already the Minister of Sports and a coach, but the results were always below average. Pasha has a very complex character, his vanity is far from supported by knowledge and experience.
I think he shouldn’t be involved in the national team! It will only make the situation worse. I am against it and will contact Maygurov to explain my position,” Tikhonov said as quoted by Sport24.
