Pidruchny began rehabilitation after knee surgery

The return of the biathlete is expected for the World Cup

Leader and veteran of the Ukrainian men’s biathlon team Dmitry Pidruchny commented on his recovery from knee surgery. The athlete stressed that he hopes to recover for the World Cup.

“I have been walking without crutches for several days now, but I do not fully step on my foot, I limp a little. I’m bending my leg a little. I started rehabilitation, I do various exercises to restore my muscles. I started training earlier, they just don’t touch this leg: arms, abs, back. You have to turn the bike with one foot.

“As for my physical form, it’s hard to guess here, I can hardly walk. I hope that in the near future I will be able to recover, but again, I don’t know where they will take me – to the “A” or “B” team. Of course, among my desires is participation in the World Cup, but this is only possible when everything goes perfectly.

Recall that the biathlete was diagnosed with a meniscus tear. Pidruchny underwent successful surgery in Germany in December.

The only start of the season for the biathlete took place in Kontiolahti. In the men’s relay, the blue-and-yellows consisting of Artem Pryma, Dmitry Pidruchny, Bogdan Tsymbal and Anton Dudchenko finished in 9th place.

It was reported that Dmitry’s return is expected at the World Championships in Oberhof, which will be held from 8 to 19 February 2023.
