Sanitra: Dudchenko and Mandzyn fell ill due to overload

Both biathletes participated in the Christmas Race

Male trainer national team of Ukraine biathlon Yuraj Sanitra spoke about illnesses in the Ukrainian team.

“In my opinion, Anton Dudchenko and Vitaly Mandzyn fell ill due to the fact that there was an overload. A difficult road to the Ukrainian championship, the weather there is not the best – rain and wind, and then the Christmas race, where there were also unfavorable weather conditions. Therefore, I think that these diseases are connected with this. Taras Lesyuk fell ill before, but it was not a serious illness that could greatly affect his condition.

“Artem Prima solved his problems. There was a simple operation, but as it turned out, I also caught COVID-19 before the New Year. So he needs to be careful now.”

Recall that Mandzyn and Dudchenko had a fever upon their return from Germany, where they competed in the Christmas race. Vitaly will miss the 2023 Winter Universiade due to pneumonia.

The fifth stage of the World Cup will be held in Ruhpolding. The competition will be opened by the men’s individual race on January 11.
