Babikov: “I want to believe that after biathlon I will benefit people”

Biathlon World Champion Anton Babikov told he was considering ending his sporting career, but has yet to decide what business he will do next.

Babikov is the 2017 world relay champion. In addition, the 31-year-old biathlete has won the European Championships four times.

How far do you plan?

– I project probably for a year. I am very motivated by the preparatory season last, even if everything has not been achieved due to the weather conditions. In such weather conditions as in Khanty or Uvat, it is not always possible to wait for the objectivity of the results.

After working in the summer, I sometimes felt very strong. He showed it in almost every practice, during competitions. Despite many guys’ victories over me, the job itself still gives me faith that I’m capable of a lot. I approach this issue with love,” Babikov said in an interview with .

Is the end of your career near?

Of course it is close. I have done biathlon for a third of my life, the end is closer than the beginning (laughing).

“Are you thinking about it?”

– I thought about it, but I would still like not to make plans for myself according to the European approach. Life shows that plans sometimes do not converge with reality. No one knows what will happen tomorrow. If earlier I considered cooperating with some companies, now they simply do not exist. Making plans is getting harder and harder these days.

I would like to believe that I will find a close-minded company, so that I do not like it less, so that it brings benefits. The main thing is that I feel useful and that I do it from the heart. This is the most important thing!
