The Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) did not provide documents Pavel Rostovtsev necessary for the appointment of the head coach of the Russian national team, the procedure for agreeing on the candidacy has not been started, said Georgy Bryusov, director of the Sports Training Center (TsSP) of national teams Russians.
On Tuesday, RBU’s press service chief Sergei Averyanov told that Rostovtsev had been hired by RBU as head coach of the Russian national team. In 2011-2014, the specialist worked as a coach for the Russian women’s team.
According to the orders of the Ministry of Sports, which regulate the procedure for approving an application for the position of head coach, the sports federation must submit the documents relating to the application for consideration by the CSP. After reviewing the documents, the FGBU “CSP” prepares a conclusion with a proposal for an agreement (no agreement) on the relevant candidate, which is sent to the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.
– Based on the review of the documents submitted by the All-Russian Sports Federation, the conclusion of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “TSSP”, as well as the results of the hearing of the candidate at the meeting of the expert council, the council decides to recommend to the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation to agree (not agree) on the relevant candidate. The decision on the approval (non-approval) of the relevant candidate is made by the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation.
The Russian Biathlon Union did not provide the documents of an applicant for the position of head coach of the Russian national biathlon team for the 2022/2023 season to the CSP, that is, she did not initiate the process of approving and approving the candidacy. And, therefore, the appointment of the head coach of Russia in biathlon is out of the question, ”said Bryusov, quoted by the press service of the CSP.
