Russian Snowboard Federation President Denis Tikhomirov told that Chinese athletes will be invited to compete in the Russian championship.
Previously, reported that foreigners could participate in the Russian Snowboard Championship and Cup in 2023. The Russian Big Air Championship will be held from March 10 to 15 in Novosibirsk, and in the snowboard cross discipline on March 22 and March 23 in Krasnoyarsk.
– Foreigners come to Russian competitions, there were Iranians, Belarusians, Kazakhs. Potentially, there will always be Argentina, but for now it’s at the stage of interest. In general, the quality of competition is improving. We welcome all foreigners who come to us. We will invite Chinese athletes to the Russian Championship in March,” Tikhomirov told .
In February, the IOC Executive Board recommended that international federations prevent Russians and Belarusians from participating in international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine. Many federations followed these recommendations and suspended athletes from Russia and Belarus.
