Coach of the Russian national cross-country team Yuri Borodavko called the successful results of the Olympic medalist natural Alexandra Terentiev on the stages of the Russian Cup.
At the sixth stage of the Russian Cup in Syktyvkar, Terentiev won the classic sprint with a score of 2 minutes 59.77 seconds. At the last stage in Krasnogorsk, Terentiev won gold in the sprint races in the classic and free style.
– Indeed, in the men’s sprint there was a serious struggle, quite good competition. The youngsters were very pleasant: Bakurov and Korostelev are juniors, but they have already reached a good level. We are happy that there is continuity. Young and promising athletes who will continue to compete with our leaders – Bolshunov and Terentyev. Somewhere in the sprints, somewhere in the long distance races. There are young people, and they are walking on their heels.
– Terentiev said in Kirovo-Chepetsk that he was not ready to compete with Bolshunov, but now he is winning two stages in a row…
– This suggests that he too is gaining in shape. On the last climb he showed good running with poles. And in the final, after the failure of Bolshunov, Terentiev managed to make a small gap, which was enough for him to finish. We expected these results from him. I think they are legit.
– So you’re happy with his form now?
“I don’t think he’s in the best shape right now. There is more to add. We will continue to prepare,” Borodavko told a correspondent.
