Biathlete Dovgaya spoke about working with a psychologist before the race

russian biathlete Ksenia Dovgaya in an interview with a correspondent, she told how she faced moral pressure before the competition.

Dovgaya took second place in the sprint race of the Pari stage of the Russian Cup in Demin with a penalty, 2.4 seconds behind leader Ekaterina Noskova. Third place went to Larisa Kuklina with a penalty, 34.2 seconds behind the winner.

– Tomorrow is the chase, for the first time in your career you are leading with a small margin on the leader. How to recover after a sprint and let yourself down psychologically?

– We have such a job – they are constantly watching us, evaluating us, this in itself is difficult in any race. But the pursuit, I agree, is a difficult race – contact, somewhere you have to defend the advantage, somewhere, on the contrary, to catch up. Very easy to start and burn. But I have been working with a psychologist for a very long time. We lived these moments with him.

– Does the psychologist tell you how to keep emotions under control?

“We work more on becoming friends with ourselves and our emotions. To not deny them, to be in harmony.

– Today, for the first time in your career, you gave a live interview on across the country. Surely, once you were in the role of a spectator and dreamed of being in the place of other athletes, now you have been in this role. How are the prints?

– Very cool! Probably, for this we work – to be realized and to be in view!

– So you have a positive attitude towards advertising?

– Yes very!

– Now there are examples when athletes write columns in sports media, speak brilliantly on social networks. If you are offered something like this, will you agree?

“I think that’s cool. I think I have interesting ideas about a lot of things. I consider myself a thoughtful person, so I would be happy to share my thoughts.
