Italian Vittozzi and Frenchwoman Chevalier-Boucher won places on the podium
French biathlete Julie Simon won the mass start at the fifth stage World Cup in german Ruhpolding.
The Frenchwoman at the finish line was ahead Lisa Vittozzi from Italy and a compatriot Anais Chevalier-Boucher. Simon made three misses at the shooting range, but compensated for them with high speed.
Ukrainian Yulia Dzhima finished 21st. Julia missed twice on the firing lines. The Ukrainian eventually lost to the winner a little over two minutes.
Recall that the men’s mass start was won by the Norwegian Johannes Be, and two more of his compatriots were on the podium. Ukrainian biathletes did not take part in the race.
The next stage of the World Cup will be held in Antholz, Italy. The women’s sprint program will open on January 19.
