Johannes Boe with three penalties won the mass start at WC Ruhpolding

norwegian biathlete Johannes Boe celebrated victory in the mass start at the fifth stage of the World Cup, held in Ruhpolding, Germany.

The athlete showed a time of 36 minutes 12.0 seconds from range, making three misses.

Second at the finish line Vetle Schosta Christiansen (+19.3, two imprecise shots), another Norwegian wins bronze Sturla Holm Legrade (+35.3, two misses). Fourth in the final protocol was Tarja Boe (+36.4 with a miss).

Timofey Lapshin, playing for the South Korean national team, became 11th in the race, losing 1 minute 18.4 seconds to the winner with two penalties.

Later Sunday, the women will start the race with a general start.
