Ukrainian successfully performed in the pursuit
Ukrainian biathlete Dmitry Grushchak took second place at the Universiade 2023, which takes place in the American Lake Placid.
Gruschak won the silver medal in the pursuit. The Ukrainian worked the first three firing lines without error, but at the final shooting he made one mistake and lost the lead.
American Bjorn Westervelt won gold in the pursuit race, and Wojciech Janick from Pole won bronze. Two other Ukrainians also took part in the race: Vladislav Grushchak closed the top 10, and Roman Borovik became 12th.
Earlier, Ukrainian biathletes Yulia Gorodna and Stepan Kinash won bronze medals in the single relay at the 2023 Universiade. Also, the bronze was won by Nordic combined athletes in the relay – Dmitry Mazurchuk and Vitaly Grebenyuk.
