The coach is satisfied with the performance of Alexandra Merkushina
Head coach of the Ukrainian national team Alexander Kravchenko summed up the results of the women’s sprint, which opened the stage biathlon world cup in Antholz-Anterselva, Italy.
“It was a very good race. We almost failed to shoot, but today the weather conditions are such that, in principle, this is good shooting.”
“Sasha Merkushina pleased, of course. Julia [Джима] in its mode now works. Again in the top 20 – it’s very good. Elena [Билосюк] pleased today. Somewhere a little starts to get closer to the conditions. Nearly failed Nastya [Меркушиной] and Ani [Кривонос]”.
“Merkushina is the leader [Украины] in terms of speed? Very happy with her race. I think her father and herself are even happier. A very good result for such a young athlete.”
Julia Dzhima took 20th place, having worked without a single miss. Alexandra Merkushina, having started 83rd, managed to finish the race with clean shooting in 44th position.
Further in Italy there will be a men’s sprint (January 20), pursuit (January 21) and relay races (January 22).
