Ukrainian woman will prepare for the European Youth Olympic Festival
Ukrainian biathlete Alexandra Merkushina withdrew from the pursuit in the sixth stage World Cup in italian Anterselva. The athlete will prepare for the European Youth Olympic Festival 2023.
“I will not start today in the pursuit. I have to prepare for the EYOF,” Alexandra wrote on social networks.
Alexandra Merkushina took 44th place in the sprint at the Anterselva stage, which allowed her to compete in the pursuit. Thus, three Ukrainians will start on Saturday – Yulia Dzhima, Elena Bilosiuk and Anastasia Merkushina.
The European Youth Olympic Festival will take place from 21 to 28 January in the Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The first biathlon competitions will take place on January 24.
The women’s pursuit race in Anterselva will be held on January 21, starting at 14:00 Kyiv time. Later, at 16:00, men will start in the same discipline.
