Winner of the biathlon world championship Matvey Eliseev told that he continues to recover and is not currently training.
In December last year, 28-year-old Eliseev announced he would suspend competitive activities until the Russian championship as he decided to take his health into his own hands. Later, the biathlete told about possible heart problems and a suspected muscle injury.
“For now, they don’t give me access to training. The last examination was a week and a half ago, therefore the results were not satisfactory. At the same time, the reason has changed: all because of hormones, because of a blood test. I’m not allowed to get a normal heart diagnosis because of the tests. The next exam is in three weeks, starting last Monday.
– Do you work ? OFP?
– Only light cyclic – I spin the bike most of the time.
– After admission, will you immediately start preparing for the season?
– There should be a conclusion from a cardiologist. He is a good experienced doctor, more than one overtrained athlete has passed through him. And then we will establish a program with a coach.
— Is it possible to say that you will miss the summer season?
– It’s the first time I’ve been in such a situation, so I can’t make any predictions. Of course, I want to participate in the summer championship. But then, how will it be possible to recover and prepare, Eliseev told correspondent.
