Ukrainian biathletes showed the best result of the season in the relay
Coach of the Ukrainian women’s biathlon team Alexander Kravchenko commented results of our biathletes at the World Cup stage in Antholz-Anterselva.
“I am satisfied with the result in the relay. They could, of course, perform even better. Anya Krivonos was at the first stage: she had not run it for a long time. But we decided to conduct an experiment while there is time before the World Cup. I think that, in principle, is not bad.
“I am glad that little by little the girls are reaching their level of functional training. And in terms of shooting, the situation was more or less acceptable. Therefore, we are entering the optimal positions.”
“I think it’s too early for Blaschko to start at the European Championships. And about the World Cup: we will look at her state of health. Whether there is enough time or not, I can’t say for sure. I would like to see her at the World Championships.”
The Ukrainian national team consisting of Anna Krivonos, Yulia Dzhima, Elena Bilosyuk and Anastasia Merkushina finished in Antholz in 9th place. This is the best result of our biathletes in the relay this season. At the same stage, Jima entered the top 20 in the sprint.
The 2023 European Championship will take place from 23 to 29 January in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. The championship program includes: individual race, sprint, pursuit, single-mixed and classic mixed relay.
