Belarusian biathlete Dmitry Lazovsky who took second place in the mass start at the home stage of the Pari Commonwealth Cup, admitted he was pleased with the results of the stage.
Russian Vasily Tomshin won the men’s mass start at the Commonwealth Cup in Raubichi (33 minutes 41.3 seconds, no misses). Lazovsky was second (+1.4, two misses) and his compatriot Nikita Lobastov (+2.2, no misses) was third.
“Will and character are the formula for today’s success. There was a lot of excitement before the race, but all’s well that ends well. I was in no hurry during the shooting, I tried to work carefully and show a 100% result. I’m very happy with how this stage went, and it’s especially cool that it happened at home.
Antokha Smolsky’s performance at this point frankly did not work out. I try to support him, because not only do we train side by side, but we also make friends. Nothing else.
On the penultimate lap, I leaned on Nikitos Lobastov, and on the third lap, he leaned on me. It turned out that we pulled through and showed great results.
Vasya Tomshin tactically correctly distributed his forces for the last lap, took a good position on the last climb and managed to escape a bit. As a result, he managed to win,” Lazovsky told Metaratings.ru.
The next stage of the Commonwealth Cup in Raubichi will take place from January 26-29. Watch live broadcasts of the competitions on the channel and on the matchtv.ru site.
