How did you act tactically? What did you take away from the last lap?

– When I realized on the first ascent that I could not get away from the guys and they would catch me anyway, the task was to hold on with them to the finish line, – the correspondent from reports the words of Tomshin. – I soberly assess my progress over the distance, I know that the guys are stronger, so I decided to gather all my strength at the finish and fight.

– So you understand when you have to attack?

In fact, I had two options. The first is that I will be able to make a small gap in the climb and keep it, the second will not be able to do it, and then 50 meters before the finish line I will start to understand it.

– Have you ever managed to defeat several opponents in the final confrontations?

– If I reached the finish line in a group, I would often gather all my strength and overtake my opponents.

– How many chances did you give yourself today in this final confrontation?

– 100 per cent. I was sure I could handle it, there was such confidence inside.

Is the track better today?

— The track is much better, ideal conditions, hard track, even icy. Running on such a track is much easier and faster.

— Did the result of your wife Anastasia Batmanova’s mass start motivate you?

– Of course, I watched Nastya’s run, I was very happy. But the joy was contained, I understood that in a few hours I had to run, I prepared myself and concentrated on my race.

– Do you feel that your condition is getting worse now?

– No, I think I’m in stable shape now, a little below average.

– Until the next stop here in Raubichi three days. Will he have time to relax, to see something in Minsk?

– There won’t be much free time. Now there was such a dense program, three races, then the same thing will happen. It is not planned to go anywhere. I will recover.

What are your goals for the rest of the season?

– The main departures are Tchaikovsky and Izhevsk in February. The task is to perform there as well as possible. Today’s win doesn’t change those plans.

– Belarusian biathletes will come to these starts.

– Costs! Their participation will certainly benefit us all.
