Dudchenko: I suffocated while shooting prone and didn’t shoot at my own pace

The biathlete ran at the final stage of the relay

Ukrainian biathlete Anton Dudchenko spoke about his performance in the relay at World Cup in Antholz, Italy.

“I’m already used to the fourth stage, I feel comfortable on it. There was such a struggle that I fought with those rivals who were nearby, and tried not to let those running behind me. Focused on those who are nearby, because others were very far ahead.

“Dissatisfied with prone shooting, where he took two extra rounds. Maybe he choked on the first shot, and then he didn’t shoot at his own pace, I think this is the reason for the misses.

“I expected a little more, but there were objective reasons. Not everything worked out. I hope that these mistakes will be corrected at the European Championship. And the result will be much better.”

The Ukrainian team took eighth place in the men’s relay in Antholz. The race was confidently won by the Norwegian team.

Anton Dudchenko will perform at the European Biathlon Championships in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. Individual races for men and women at the competition will be held on January 25.
