Snowboarders compete for Special Olympics medals

The names of snowboarders who won medals at the Special Olympics, which are held in Kazan, have become known.

Athletes competed in the super-giant discipline. In the entry-level men’s group, Roman Chigvintsev won, Rodion Rumyantsev came second, Alexander Tsygankov third. In the entry-level women’s group, Anna Kushnareva took first place, Victoria Pakina came second, and Polina Svetlakova third.

In the second division of the high-level group, Andrey Skibin celebrated the victory, Artem Farkhutdinov won silver, Elena Nazarova won bronze. In the first division, the gold belongs to Dmitry Tyufyakov, Semyon Fedotov took second place, and Gleb Abdullin took third place.

The opening ceremony of the competition took place on Sunday in Kazan. Also on Monday, competitions in basketball, judo, tennis and cross-country skiing began.

The competitions take place from January 22 to 26. The capital of Tatarstan will bring together more than two thousand athletes and team representatives who will perform in 18 sports. For the first time, summer and winter sports competitions will take place within the same tournament.
