The Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) operates within the framework of an agreement with the Belarusian Biathlon Federation (BFB) on the admission of athletes to participate in competitions, the head of the RBU said Viktor Maygurov commenting on the coach’s letter Alexander Kasperovitch at the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.
The regulations of the biathlon competition “Russian Championship among juniors and juniors 19-21 years old” was signed by Maygurov on August 8, 2022. The competitions were held from January 19 to 23 in Rybinsk, Yaroslavl region. Previously, the coach of the St. Petersburg national team, Kasperovich, wrote an open letter to the Ministry of Sports, in which he complained that Belarusian athletes deprived some Russians of participation in the big mass start.
– As you know, the letter was addressed to the Ministry of Sports, so all questions go there. We have an agreement between our countries on the participation of athletes in competitions. We are acting within the framework of this agreement,” Maygurov told .
