As it became known from , the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow postponed the hearing in the case of the former president of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Alexandra Kravtsova February 7.
This decision was made due to the absence of prosecution witnesses. In November, the Zamoskvoretsky court extended Kravtsov’s arrest until March 1. In December, the Moscow City Court upheld the trial court’s decision to keep Kravtsov in a remand center.
Kravtsov was arrested in September 2020. According to investigators, between May 2014 and July 2017, Kravtsov appointed six people as analysts of the complex science group and organized another as an instructor of the ski team at the sports training center of the Russian national team. Employees received a salary, but did not actually work.
The first hearing in the Kravtsov case was scheduled for March 21, 2022, since then it has been postponed several times, Wednesday for the 22nd time.
The amount of damage caused by Kravtsov’s actions was estimated at 14.45 million rubles. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
Kravtsov headed the Sports Training Center of the Ministry of Sports from 2009 to 2020 and was the president of the RBU from 2014 to 2018. In 2014 he led the Russian delegation to the Sochi Olympics.
