Belarusian biathlete Dinara Alimbekova said that before her victory in the pursuit race at the fifth stage of the Commonwealth Cup, she felt responsible towards the fans, the coaching staff and herself.
Alimbekova won the pursuit race on Saturday at the Commonwealth Cup stage in Raubichi. The athlete at the finish line showed the time of minutes 29 minutes 41.5 seconds, not allowing a single miss at the shooting range. Russian Victoria Slivko (+44.9 seconds; 2 misses) finished second, while her compatriot Irina Kazakevich (+1 minute 16.9 seconds; 4 misses) finished third.

– Was it like training today, or were there any difficulties?
– Actually, not like training, after all, it’s a competition. I’m very happy to be able to face the shooting in racing conditions, I’m very happy with my work on the shooting lines. I knew I had an advantage there and I took advantage of it.
– Today there was crazy support, they worried me at the last shoot, but everything went well. How did you manage to shoot clean?
– Even before the race, there is a sense of responsibility that you have to treat yourself, the fans, the coaching staff and everyone who works for our result in order to be positive. During the filming, of course, there are no such emotions, there you just do your job. It all depends on the mood, and today I got a decent result.
– Before the mass start, what are your expectations?
– There is no waiting, I will go out and fight. The girls have a serious competition, each miss can fall back a few positions, so I am determined to work the lines neatly and cover the distance well, ”betrays the correspondent Alimbekova’s words.
