Biathlete Anastasia Batmanova talked about his rivalry with Anastasia Shevchenko for bronze in the mass start of the Pari stage of the Commonwealth Cup in Belarus.

— With what emotions did you end when you realized that Nastya Shevchenko was catching up with you?

– There was a certain responsibility, the jitters, because Nastya is a good fighter at the finish line. If she had been closer to me, I would have won anyway, I guess.

What do you think of racing in general?

— I am very satisfied with my shot, despite two misses. But these two misses were in a tough spot, because I came in as the leader on the first install, and I’ve never had that before. More wind, so two penalties. But I’m glad I didn’t give up, I worked on the final frontier, which pulled me into third place.

– When you left for the last lap, did you understand that you were fighting for a medal?

– Yes, the coach told me that the third or fourth place. I understood that I had the possibility of clinging to the bronze. I checked Nastya Shevchenko in one of the climbs and it turned out that I’m stronger right now. And mine didn’t fail me.

– What are your plans for the future?

– Rally in Sochi. There we will rest a little and we will continue to work before the next stages. I will go to Tchaikovsky, we will all go, ” correspondent reports about Batmanova.
