Dudchenko: It was a good European Championship for me

The Ukrainian, among other things, is satisfied with his performance in the mixed relay

Ukrainian biathlete Anton Dudchenko commented on the performance in the mixed relay at European Championship 2023. The athlete is satisfied with his results at the competitions in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.

“At my stage, I understood that it was possible to fight with the Austrians, the French team was also nearby. I was determined to work to the maximum, and then how it goes. ”

“Not that I risked shooting, but I wanted to shoot as soon as possible. I hurried on prone shooting, made the first miss, and he stopped me. I began to make each shot more deliberately, not to succumb to emotions. And on the stand, I tried to work out as quickly as possible, realizing that we went together and that we could take risks in order to beat the Austrians and the French.

Happy with the race. It would be ideal if it worked at all without additional cartridges, but it’s not bad anyway, I think.

“The European Championship was not bad for me, if you don’t take into account the sprint race, the shooting didn’t work out there. And in the individual I managed to work out well, with only one miss. And today in the relay is quite successful. I think that for me a good European Championship came out.

The Ukrainian team took fifth place in the mixed relay at the European Championships. Dudchenko managed to win back one position in the final stage. Anton has a silver medal in the individual race in the competition.

In total, Ukrainians won three medals at the European Championship 2023. Anastasia Merkushina won gold in the sprint and Yuliya Jima won silver in the women’s individual race.
