The head of the service team of the Russian biathlon team, Alexander Pechersky, expressed the hope that some Russian athletes will be able to compete on national skis in the next Olympics.
Tuesday at the Innovation Center of the Russian Olympic Committee (OKR ) the official presentation of the project of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) in the field of import substitution of skis and ski equipment took place. The presentation was attended by ROC Chairman Stanislav Pozdnyakov and RBU Chairman Viktor Maygurov .
– A new task falls to the SBR service: development, research, search for constructive solutions in the development of the first domestic skis. This is a new path that we had not yet explored. Before that, skiers and biathletes used imported samples, and it turns out that there were never any problems with this, everything was in abundance.
It’s good that the idea of making our skis came to mind, and the process began. Before these skis were presented here, experimental work was carried out on the structure, plasticity, internal saturation. The skis approached in quality their imported counterparts. We test, compare day after day. We changed about seven design solutions, after which it was decided to produce a batch of skis, which will also be tested by the regions. The process will take time, but we have launched it in earnest. It takes a lot to get to a decent level. It is possible that the impetus for development will be quite serious, and I hope that one of our athletes will compete there in the next Olympic Games, ”reports the correspondent of in the words of Pechersky.
